"Indulge Your Senses"!

Here's a great cause and event that Boulevard is proud to support!

Deafblind Ontario Services is planning our 1st annual Indulge Your Senses event to be held at St. George’s Banquet Hall in Waterloo on June 4th, 2008 from 7-10pm. Over 150 women will attend this evening of pampering and relaxation including delectable treats, stimulating aromas, hand massages, reflexology treatments, and our guest speaker Judy Suke, a homourist. We are also holding a silent auction of items fitting the pampering, relaxation and indulgence theme. We invite you to share our vision and support deafblindness by attending the event. Tickets are $50.00 with a $25.00 tax receipt.

Deafblindness is a unique dual disability that involves a substantial loss of both hearing and sight, the combination of which results in significant difficulties in accessing information and achieving educational, vocational, recreation and social goals. Those who are congenitally deafblind have lost their sight and hearing either pre-natally or shortly after birth. Without specialized intervention and adapted communication methods, people who are deafblind have no way of accessing information about the world around them, and may retreat unnecessarily into a life of social isolation and dependency.
